Monster Tachometer install 2000 & Up models

 Installing a monster tach/gauge:
(Video to come soon!)

This is a very simple process to do, many people don't know how to or just never messed with this kind of stuff before. Many people go to other pages to ask for tips or help but  end up with crap lol. Anyways back to the subject. Keep in mind that this cannot, I repeat cannot be hooked on to the rpm wire in the dashboard. The reason why is because the PCM won't be able to read both of those device correctly and can throw them off by 1 or 2k rpm. This need to be hooked on differently.

Depending on the brand you get, The Tachometer or Gauge may have different color wires (See your Tachometer manual for details) on most tachs the signal wire is green and of course you have your negative and positive. The green wire will be the one that reads the RPMs on your tach.

Locate your distributor, and look at the wires. For this next step you will need a volt meter. check all of the the wires on the distributor and see the one that has a signal. One you find it, that wire is were you have to hook on the green or which ever color is your signal wire for your tach. Splice the wire on the distributor and connect your signal wire. For the 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse it was the White wire on the distributor. Hook up your pos & neg, set up your tach on which RMP the light glows, turn on the car and test it.

  2. The tachometer gauge I have has a red, yello, black, and green. Where does the yellow wire goes to?
